A musician shaped by global experience – as minimalist as he is expansive. Even after more than six decades on the world’s stages, Trevor Watts remains a defining figure in international jazz. In 2002, I portrayed this musical border-crosser at a concert with his Trevor Watts Moiré Music Group – an ensemble that brought his distinctive sound to life: between open form and African rhythmic pulse.

Here, I show a face that thinks in sound – marked by lived music, deep focus, and a spirit open to the world.
