SILENT JAZZ - ABOUT SAX - ABRAHAM BURTON

The Boundless

Abraham Burton is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive voices in modern jazz saxophone. As a torchbearer of the New York scene, he moves among outstanding musicians such as Roy Haynes, John Hicks, Arthur Blythe, Roy Hargrove, and the Mingus Big Band.

His playing combines technical precision with an uncompromising drive for expression – energetic, fearless, and always pushing boundaries.

On this concert evening, joined by Orrin Evans (p), Tassili Bond (b), Nasheet Waits (dr), and Steve Davis (tb), Burton once again proves: jazz isn’t a formula – it’s a process.

His music remains grounded – but it burns underfoot. There’s no hesitation here, only ignition.

Here I present Burton – seemingly bursting the frame.
The recordings used in this graphic interpretation were made in 2002.
