THE GROWTH OF "NEVER EVER - THIS BALLET AT ONCE"

The long way . . .
At the end of the 90s, I tried my hand at freelance press photography. My focus was on cultural events such as music, theatre, and dance performances. In 1998, the renowned event organizer, the legendary "Mr. Jazz" Mike Gehrke, commissioned me to develop various concepts, implementations, and Internet presences.
One part of the conceived visual world was the world's first online jazz ballet, which is revisited here in a new form. In the first interaction, the images were rhythmically synchronized with short music excerpts; in this revised version, entitled "NEVER EVER", the focus is on the pure power of the image.
With the untimely death of Mike Gehrke in 2004, "A BALLET AT ONCE" went into my archive. Now it's time to ask the ladies to take to the stage once more . . .
Intention
"NEVER EVER" was inspired by Eadweard Muybridge's "GALLOPING HORSE". Remembering this, I deliberately used only single shots. After selection, these were manually assembled and arranged in such a way that new movements and loops emerged. The naively ironic impression developed only after a long process because – I don't serve raw food.
Dedication
Looking to the future, I wish for more human creativity that is not displaced by artificial intelligence. I wish this above all for my beloved son Tyll, who also has to assert himself in augmented realities. I dedicate this project to him with great affection.
Thanks
Many thanks to the "12+1" ladies who made it all possible with their commitment, passion, and enthusiasm. You are unforgettable. And finally, thanks to everyone and everything I forgot.
I warmly welcome you to: Never Ever ➜
